Anagama-fired Ceramics

Clay, slip, wood ash,
rice staw, onsen water

The work created during the time spent in Gunma is a study on place through the use of various local clays and hand-building techniques. Ceramics are of the earth and the work is an homage to this. The process of creation was guided by the clay. Listening to what form it wanted to take on was paramount to the success of the overall body of work. This was a strong lesson in letting go and allowing the work to just be.
